Sister Rivals and a W

In a great showing of sisterly rivalry the BYU Cougars of Provo went up against the BYU Seasiders of Hawai'i last night in the Smith Fieldhouse in Provo. In a dominant three set sweep the Cougars showed their sisters how it's done.

Last night the Cougars won a sweep, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20, of the Seasiders at home.
Throughout the match the team worked well together everyone working for the win. Most exciting is that all five of the Cougar hitter reached a hitting percentage of .250 or above. Kat lead the Cougars with .636 including zero errors. Christie, Katie and Jen contributed significantly with 9, 11, and 15 kills each.

Jen threw in her two cents for defense contributing 10 digs for her second double-double of the season. After the first set Jen and Kendalyn had tied for digs and some wondered if Jen was looking for another position. ;)

Both offense and defense did well that night only letting the Seasiders take the lead once, by one point, and extending the Cougar lead to as much as 12 points during the match. All in all most of us feel good as the Cougars head to their next tournament and match.

The Cougars next play at 5pm on Friday at Utah against UC Riverside in their first match of the Utah invitational. The tournament will continue with 2 matches on Saturday for the Cougars.

The official stats for the match are here, and below is a Shawn recap of the night. Jen  also decided to out ace everyone with 5 aces on the night including a 3 ace streak, as seen below.
