Playing at the War Memorial Gym the Cougars held off the University of San Francisco Dons in a 76-67 victory.
The Cougars struggled in the opening minutes of the match, but then found their spark from Riley who put in a three and a two to get the Cougs going. Jen and Haley responded positively, putting up several points each and grabbing several rebounds before the half.
In the first half the Cougars eventually found their rhythm out shooting the Dons .471 to .375, from two, .231 to .167, from three, with the bench adding 10 pts. Giving a half time score of 38-32.
After the break the Cougars came out scoring, and just wouldn't let up. Riley, Haley, and Lexi ended the game in double figure points, 19, 13, and 11. Haley had the highest scoring percentages from both teams with .833 and .750 from 3. Riley also picked up her season-high points. Jen and Dani led in rebounds with 7 and 6, while Riley rocked the night with 4 blocks, a career high. Haley and Kimmer dished out 5 and 4 assist.
As a team the Cougars shot .609 from the field and .857 from the arc in the second half, matching their first half in points with 38.
