Back at home the Cougars dominated the Santa Clara Broncos in a 3 set sweep to bring up the Cougar spirit.
Although playing in front of a small crowd, someone planned a soccer match the same night, the Cougars delivered their awesome for the semi-pink fans gathered. (Some missed the memo for the change in Dig Pink date.)
After juggling the first couple of points between the teams eventually Jen, Christie, Nicole, and Kat controlled the match. They had 13, 10, and 7 kills with 8 blocks from Kat. Kat set a new career high in blocks with the 8, and Jen recorded her seventh double-double of the season adding 12 digs to her kills.
Santa Clara tried nearly everything to throw the Cougars off their game, but it just couldn't be done. They played nearly all their players, putting in a grand total of 11 players. In an interesting moment Santa Clara Head Coach called a time out and then sent all of his players aside to figure out what they were going to change on their own.
All of this came to no avail as the Cougars pulled farther ahead each set. This win puts the Cougars at 14-4 on the season, and 3-1 in conference. For those of you paying attention, 14 wins is the most the Cougars got all last season. It's all up hill from here.
Here is the Cougar Report and Stats.
