Rolling Through Denver

In the first round of the WNIT the Cougars put up an impressive 75-60 win over University of Denver to continue on to play Utah State in the second round. All around the ladies had a good game, and showed they are in it to win it.

The game started off slow for the Cougars changing the lead seven times in the first half, before walking off with a three point lead. Mindy and Kirsten lead the Cougars in the first half. Both had double digits, and made key shots to spark the Cougars along.

In the second half more of the Cougars caught on and four ended in double figures. Mindy had 23 points, Coriann had 18 points, Kirsten had 11 points, and Jen had 11points. The Cougars have had only 6 games on the year with four players in double figures, but are 6-0 when they do. Mindy's 23 points are also a career high for her.

Poor three point shooting and foul trouble plauged the Cougars for most of the game. The game with only three treys made, two in the second half. Kirsten, Jen, and Coriann all nearly fouled out, ending the game with four fouls apiece.

However, BYU neatly out-rebounded and out-shot their opponents for the victory. Kirsten and Mindy helped out a bit with season-high 3 steals each.
